Devilfly Games

Chris Fisher and Nick Barker are the designers behind Undermined! Pairadice city at Devilfly Games. We have been passionate about games since we were both young, and have spent countless hours playing games and enjoying other designers’ work. Our own design journey began tinkering with homebrew rulesets, running campaigns and coming up with our own adjustments to other games.  Our first game came about when we were sat in a pub one evening discussing our latest gaming session and decided that we should put our money where our mouths are and make our own game!

Since that day, over seven years ago, we’ve been working together to craft Undermined! Pairadice City, our first fully published game. Through huge amounts of discussion, playtesting and feedback we’ve distilled our initial vision down to what we have created without losing anything that we think makes it special (although a few of the really bad puns had to go!).

We have had the great pleasure of working with Patrice Rameau, the artist on this project, who has created some wonderful pieces that have really brought the world of Pairadice City to life. He has worked tirelessly to create the visuals for the tools, events, treasures and perils that are core to the game.  Alongside Patrice, all the best bits of the graphics, layout and iconography work has been brilliantly delivered by Feride Seferaj (Ida Creative). It has been an absolute honour to work with both of these truly wonderful and professional creative people.

We have also met many people whilst we have been demoing the game around the UK at conventions over the last few years, and are excited to be working on much more since successfully funding this project on Kickstarter. We have recently released our first expansion for Undermined! Pairadice City – Personas en Strata – which takes characters from the artwork of the base game and allows you to play as them, gaining thematic powers for that character’s role in Pairadice City and hopefully bringing the game even more life for you all to enjoy at home.

We’ll keep updating on what is coming when the time is right, but our approach for all of this is about creating and releasing good quality games, that are well tested, and really enjoyable.
